Dr. Bradley Kurgis, D.O., M.P.H,
Dr. Bradley Kurgis has been practicing dermatology, skin cancer removal and hair restoration on the central coast since 1992. He is board certified in Dermatology, Dermatological Surgery, and hair restoration.
Dr. Kurgis received his B.S. and M.P.H from Tufts University in Boston, MA. He received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1987. He completed his residency in dermatology and skin related diseases from UCLA in 1991. Early in his practice, Dr. Kurgis concentrated on hair disorders and was one of the pioneers and first physicians to become board certified in hair restoration.
He has performed more than 10,000 hair transplants and over 20,000 Mohs skin cancer procedures. He lectures nationally and internationally on skin and hair related disorders and is often asked to appear on news programs and infomercials as an authoritative medical expert.

Kelli Van Housen, BSN, RN
Kelli has worked as a Registered Nurse for over 29 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from San Jose State University in 1993. Her extensive work experience in nursing includes: Family Practice, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Industrial Medicine, Rheumatology, Pediatrics, Triage, Telephone Advice, Cardiology, Dermatology, and Surgery.
For the past eighteen years Kelli has focused on the cosmetic side of dermatology and everything that encompasses it. This includes training and certification in all injectables and is a Certified Advanced Nurse Injector. Kelli prides herself in keeping your natural beauty while at the same time improving lines and wrinkles using the most advanced techniques.
Kelli enjoys learning and is always attending conferences in her field for the latest and greatest. She has achieved advanced training certification for the “Dermal Thread Lift Technique” from Aesthetic Advancements. She has had PDO Nova thread training with Dr. Kian Karimi the Guru of PDO threads.
Mrs. Van Housen is also trained on several multiplatform laser systems including the Nordly’s Ellipse system by Candela which was named as the Best energy-based device of the year , June 7th, 2022. This system has several applications including: Permanent laser hair reduction, IPL with selective waveband technology, light& bright treatment, Frax 1550, Frax1940, 1064 Nd YAG. Kelli can treat many skin and aging issues with this technology. Recently Kelli received training on two newer handpeices with the Nordlys system and can now confidently treat darker skin types (3-5 fitzpatrick scale) for Permanent laser hair removal and Frax 1940 non-ablative fractional skin resurfacing(3-4 fitzpatrick scale). With all these lasers comes a big responsibility. Kelli is certified on all laser systems at Dr. Kurgis’s office and had completed a 12 hour laser safety officer course.
Kelli is passionate about your skin and she is big on homecare and maintenance. She will walk you through every treatment and provide a detailed homecare regime to bring out your best results. Kelli has a Blog, that she continually writes for your education and her recommendations. Kelli is in it for the long run.
In her spare time – Kelli likes to spend time with her husband and their three boys, two are grown, but still has a 16 year old at home. She enjoys painting landscapes, gardening, reading true crime , and lately has taking on bird watching. She also enjoys writing her Blog. Kelli has a saying “Lets grow older together looking younger”
Terra Rotondo, Licensed Esthetician
Terra has been a licensed esthetician for over 19 years, she takes great pride in helping patients with their skin care needs. She’s continued her education over the years and has achieved training certifications for treating various skin conditions, performing Hydrafacials, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Peels, NanoFusion Pro, and Dermaplane Pro treatments. She has worked for Dr. Kurgis for over 9 years and prior to that worked for a plastic and reconstruction surgeon for 8 years. She started her career self-employed in salon, spas, and medical spas as an aesthetician and massage therapist. She realized she wanted to be in a more medical setting to better help people, in particular kids who are struggling with acne. Over the years in addition to being a practicing aesthetician she’s worked various other positions in the medical office including front office, back office, administration, and billing.
Treatments that Terra offers include: Hydrafacials, Hydrafacial Wet Diamond Abrasion, chemical peels, waxing, customized facials, NanoFusion Pro, Dermaplaning, and acne treatments.
Chrissy Shaw, Practice Manager
Chrissy has been the practice manager for over three years since being promoted from the position of front office manager. Before joining the practice she worked as a manager at Sephora and owned a hair salon. In addition, Chrissy was a preschool teacher for several years.
Chrissy is an avid sports fan who loves wine tasting, fine dining, and shopping when she’s not working to keep the practice running at peak performance.
Carianne Cunningham, Physician Assistant (PA-C)
Carianne graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch with a master’s degree in physician assistant studies. While at UTMB, she completed her elective rotations in dermatology and wrote her master’s thesis on prevention of skin cancer in adolescents.
Carianne also earned a B.S. in human biology from UC San Diego. Carianne was attracted to the Physician Assistant field after shadowing multiple dermatology physician assistants. Carianne has been professionally trained by Dr. Kurgis in medical and surgical dermatology.
Tess Wianecki, Physician Assistant (PA-C)
Tess graduated from Cal Poly SLO with a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology & Geography and a minor in Biology. She then went to Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona where she earned her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
While on rotations she developed an interest and passion for skin conditions on her dermatology rotation.
Front Office Staff
The professional, fully trained front office team is committed to providing exceptional customer service. Whether guiding patients through the insurance claims process or scheduling appointments at convenient times, the front office staff is dedicated to serving patients efficiently with a helpful attitude.
Hair Restoration Team
Dr. Kurgis’ highly trained surgical team has assisted Dr. Kurgis for many years. The have a true passion for what they do, taking pride in assisting throughout all phases of the hair restoration procedure while providing patients with the most comfortable and relaxed experience possible.
Back Office Staff
The back office team consists of four medical assistants, who are professionally trained to assist with all in-office procedures, including Mohs surgery and all excision & biopsy procedures. They take the extra care to make sure each patient is comfortable throughout each procedure. The back office team has over 30 years combined experience in Dermatology and helping patients.
